My review of Battle Scars by Jane Harvey-Berrick

Margaret Jean (MJ) Buckham is working as a foreign correspondent in Afghanistan when she finds herself in a dire situation and needs military help to get out.

Sergeant Jackson Connor and his men are sent in to rescue MJ and is not impressed that she tisked her life and those of his men for a story.

Three months later Jack and MJ are brought back together in New York. They realize they have both been thinking about the other and how short life can be.

But with both MJ and Jack being very career driven will they be able to handle a long distance relationship? When they are faced with circumstances out of their control will they realize what is most important?

This was a great story about love, following your own dreams and making sense of it all when it comes down to a single event that could have a large impact.

I loved the life that MJ had and how she truly wanted people to understand war and the impact that it had on everyone involved. Yet she missed one small detail which ended up putting her life in danger.

The chemistry between MJ and Jack was through the roof and I loved the bind that the two of them shared. I really didn't feel like the relationship was rushed due to the ages of both MJ and Jack and what they had each been through.

I really liked the conversations between the two of them as they really did open up to each other and really supported the other. They didn't want to let go but also didn't want to hold the other back.

The twists and turns kept me involved in the story and I loved each of them meeting the important people in the others lives and the impact that Jack and MJ had made with certain people.

These were two of my favorite characters and I hope we get a glimpse of them again in another book!
