My review of Ravaged River by Lindsay Cross

This is one of my favorite series and I really hope it never ends. Although technically each book can be read as a stand-alone it is honestly better to start with book 1 to get a better sense of the characters and this book definitely has some reasons to go back.

Hoyt Crowe is trying to live with the punishment that was inflicted upon him by his cousin and cousin's girlfriend and has done so with a bottle. But unless he shapes up his job may soon be in jeopardy as a member of TFS - Task Force Scorpion. When it becomes clear that their nemesis may still be alive and has passed personal information onto Zafarel Abdul they know that sleeper cells are in town and after them.

Hayden James has feelings for Hoyt Crowe but knows that he is pushing her away due to his injuries. When Hayden begins to get close to Malik Hussein suspicion is cast and Hoyt must protect her no matter how much he wants to stay far away from her.

This book had so many twists that I was suspecting people and then thought they were good then back to guilty again. It rocked and I was so happy to kept in this much suspense!

So I have had mixed feelings about Hayden in the past but I know that she is really a good person deep down and genuinely cares about Hoyt. Hoyt has so much inner turmoil and it is so understandable with everything he went through in the past.

It's very difficult to write anything without spoiling things so let me say how awesome Lindsay did with keeping me engaged and doubting myself and my loyalties!

Another great book and crossing my fingers for more!!

My review of David by Lindsay Cross

Lori is done being a "single" wife and mother while her hubby David works undercover distancing himself more and more from his family. When she believes he is having an affair with someone he works with she feels their marriage is over.

David needs to prove to Lori that he loves her and their kids above everything else but unfortunately being undercover means that the job doesn't always end.

I thought this story was great in that it really went into detail about how difficult it is for a wife to cope while your hubby is more dedicated to a dangerous job than he is to his family. I really felt for Lori and how much she did for the kids. I also felt so much towards the kids, knowing that their dad doesn't show up to many things and lets them down so much over saying he will be there and isn't.

Yet, David starts to prove himself, even if it comes to late. I can't wait for more from Lindsay!!

Bacon Ranch Chicken

Slow cooker night!

I was planning on making this a different night but due to the 3-4 hours on high I decided it would be perfect for a night with hockey practice.

This one was so easy to prepare and smelled awesome when I got home. I cooked the chicken for a bit over 4 hours due to not getting home as soon as I thought I would but it didn't burn or get too crispy at all. This was probably the easiest I ever had chicken shred for me and it was so moist and delicious!

I think if I made it again I would throw in a little extra bacon bits just because I personally think it could use a little more bacon taste. I mixed it up with the egg noodles and it was so delicious!

So yummy and can't wait to make it again!!

This was the first time I have used a recipe from Crockin Girls and it certainly won't be my last!

Grabbing the lapels of his shirt, she attacked his mouth without hesitation. Her body burned with need. He was her mate. She was more sure of it than anything else in her life. He just didn’t agree with her—correction—he was trying to pretend it wasn’t true. Denial, again. This man had some issues to work through. First and foremost, he needed to embrace being a wolf.
Allan returned the kiss for a millisecond before pushing her away, but that small taste hadn’t been enough. No way in hell was she giving up now. She tightened her grip on his shirt and wrapped a leg around his thigh, rubbing her hip directly across a very hard bulge in his pants. Now we’re talking.
“No. We can’t do this.”
Fuck. She pouted as he untangled her body from his and pushed her away. Can’t. Sman’t. By the end of the day, she’d have those delicious lips of his on her again. And next time, there would be no pushing away.
“Look,” she said. “I’ll talk to the bar owner. I’m sure he’ll be fine if we make it right. We can replace the light.”
“How are you going to explain that you threw a man over the mechanical bull with your spaghetti arms?”
“I wasn’t going to go into detail. I was just going to apologize and give him a check. Money talks, cowboy.” She crossed her arms beneath her breasts, forcing them just a little higher in the corseted top she was wearing. Boobs do too and they’ve yet to fail me.
His nostrils flared slightly, and she smiled. He might be in denial about her being his mate, but he could only hold out for so long. What a wolf wanted, a wolf always got in the end.
“I don’t want you anywhere near Joe. If he forces my hand, I’ll have to arrest you. He’s pissed.” He put the half empty beer bottle on the counter behind her and huffed away. “Just leave it be. I’ll take care of it.”
Reyna grabbed the Shiner and downed what was left in a few swallows. Something a little harder would’ve been nice, but it would do for now.
The back door slammed shut behind Allan. She needed to move fast.

My review of London with a Dare by Angela Ford & Jennifer Conner

I have not read any of the original Dare series but after reading this book I am very intrigued to see what I have missed!

Chapple Palmer is assigned to show Ian and Riley Dare and their assistant Elisha Shepard around London as part of his duty as captain of the London Lions, the local football club. Ian is in town for his US football team, the Miami Thunder to play in London.

Chapple is desperate for some good press, being known as a complete womanizer but as Elisha gets to know him she sees two sides of him. As the two get closer will the real Chapple come out and what will happen once Elisha's two weeks in London are over?

I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the real Chapple. I can't imagine what it is like being portrayed in the press one certain way and no one even wanting to know the real truth as it doesn't sell papers. I love that Elisha provided him what he needed with trust and second chances, due to the past that both endured.

Such a great book and I look forward to more collaborations between these two authors!

My review of Sunstone by Holly Barbo

This was my first time reading Steampunk and it certainly will not be my last if this book is any indication.

This book focuses on the Steam-powered civilization Myrn and three elemental stones blessed by the Goddess Navora. These stones are wanted by corrupt businessmen for greed and wealth. But there is still people working for the better good of the civilization and it is up to them to get to the stones first to protect Myrn.

I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. There was such a great mix of characters from different fields working together and it was very ironic on how the book ended.

Kes and his adopted father M'nacht are both working in the scientific fields and notice different things happening that leads them to try and discover what is really going on and who is behind it.

There was so much unrest in Myrn that it was really interesting and I loved all the gadgets that they used for information and all of the secrets panels!

My review of Darkness Undone by Georgia Lyn Hunter

Reynner is an immortal warrior who is bound to a vengeful goddess, Inanna. He is on a mission to find a human who can get him the mystical Stone of Light in order to save his people, the Empryeans.

Eve Leighton's life has never been the same since she tried to save her parents from a fiery car crash that left her with the ability to see into other people's minds through contact. She wears gloves to protect herself from others and only has a limited number of people she is close with.

When Reynner discovers that Eve can help him, will she be willing when her life is in apparent danger from others that also seek the stone? When both Reynner and Eve are attracted to the other will their feelings for each other hinder their ability to seek the stone?

I enjoyed this book and the look into the lives of the immortals of Reynner and Aeren. There was much mystery through the book with trying to seek out the stone and the fight that Reynner had with trying to protect Eve from Inanna.

I really enjoyed Eve's character and her inner battles within herself of trying to have a normal life and relationship, yet not being able to get to close as she could never touch the person with her hands. I couldn't imagine how hard that would be. She is very tough and I liked how we really got to know her through the book and how far she was willing to go to protect people that she had just met.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

My review of Deceived by Samyah Leighton

Jackson Delaney's life has just turned upside down with the revelations that came out after his brother was killed in a drunk driving accident. Desperate to right what was wrong he asks his "niece", Sutton, to come live with him in San Antonio as he is the quarterback for the San Antonio Steelers. As he struggles to come to terms with Sutton he knows he must come face to face with the woman who broke his heart in the past, Skyler Deveraux.

Skyler has moved on from her past with Jackson and is now trying to get divorced from her husband Christopher when Jackson confronts her with their past. As Skyler tries to move forward and find a "neutral" place with Sutton and Jackson she is finally content with what the future holds. But the past just won't let go.

I must admit that when I began the book I had no idea that more were coming and as I was nearing the end I could feel that something bad was going to happen but I knew that there was not going to be enough pages to get everything resolved. Part of me was super frustrated as I really wanted a HEA but I knew I wasn't going to get it!

I enjoyed the book and I liked all of the dynamics but still have no idea what really went down between Jackson and Skyler when they were younger. There are so many questions still that I need answers too! I really liked Sutton and could understand why she was so comfortable with Jackson as opposed to Skylar.

Looking forward to the next book!

Bourbon Brown Sugar Grilled Chicken

I think I've mentioned my love for Bourbon before. And if not, now you know. I love the smell of it and the taste of it but it's not a hugely popular drink in Canada as compared to the US. But as I follow many American cooking sites it is used quite a bit which makes me super happy.

So when I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. This one actually calls for Bourbon in the recipe so right away I knew it was going to be a winner!

I made the sauce in the morning and had the chicken marinading in it all day and it was so absolutely awesome! I cooked it inside on my electric grill and it was so moist and absolutely delicious! I did heat up the sauce as well and served it with a brown rice and it was just so amazing! My daughter loved it so I knew it was an absolute winner!!

I've made many recipes before from Pink Parsley and found their recipes are great and so easy to make!

This is a chicken dish that I would definitely make again!

My review of Between Good and Evil by R.Michael Phillips

Sheriff Promise Flynn has left Chicago and her job as a detective with the big city police and started over in Auburn Notch, hoping to leave her past behind her. But, it looks like the past has found her. Sheriff Flynn must decide on who she can trust with the secrets of her past and whether her life may still be in danger.

Bob Clayton is being forced to commit murders with his step-brother, no matter how much he doesn't want to. The police may be closing in on him but there are so many questions to be answered and the various agencies working on the case must work together to discover the missing links.

This was a good book filled with many twists and turns. Although we know right from the beginning who the killer is there are so many questions on why that we discover through the book.

Sheriff Flynn was a great character and you could see that she still had her doubts on who she could trust as everyone seems to converge on Auburn Notch. It was interesting to see all the links when they finally came into place!

This was the first time I have read this author and I would definitely read his books again!

My review of Honor Roll by Kelly Collins

This book centers around Luca Gregorio, who we first met in The Dean's List. At 26 Luca is months away from graduation when he loses his biggest client and now wonders if he will be able to pay off all his debts in time.

When his favorite professor has taken a leave of absence, Professor Saunders, and his beautiful assistant Mim Knight take his place. Luca is instantly smitten with Mim but knows he must keep his profession a secret from her until he graduates, knowing that if she knows the truth he will lose her for good.

But can Luca manage to keep his new clients and girlfriend apart, when her father knows the truth about him?

I loved this book and Luca. He was such an amazing character and just knew what he had to do in order to get by and had it all planned out until everything went downhill. He truly cares about Mim and I thought it was so honorable how he truly tried to separate his two lives in order to value Mim more, although of course she had no clue what was going on.

I thought Mim was a great character and loved how she put the moves on Luca. I completely understood where the character was coming from in breaking it off and one of my favorite parts was the teas in the morning!

Loved this book and can't wait for more from the author!

My review of Carnal by Victoria Danaan

Elora Rose Storm, known as "Rosie" asks for help from the angel Kellareal to get her some time away and he brings her to another dimension where he has brought a hybrid population that were about to be terminated. This group, known as The Exiled, are there to protect the humans living in Farsuitwall.

Rosie lives with Free, the leader of the Exiled, and his family and soon immerses herself in their culture and learns more about them. But Rosie has questions and knows she most protect this group at all costs. But when she begins to feel an attraction to Carnal she wonders at what cost will her heart be taken.

I found the beginning of the book was a little slow and then it just took off and I was like wow! I loved the character of Rosie and how she was protecting herself and her secret but really wanted to help The Exiled. She was super smart and really loved the people who trusted her. I liked the attraction that she and Carnal had and how he slowly went about gaining her trust before really making any moves on her, although he had claimed her.

I must say that the ending took me by complete surprise and I was so shocked!

My review of Sensual Diversions: 14 Sexy Shorts Presented by Lavish Publishing

This book is a series of hot excerpts from the authors collections, with the exception of two novellas. The cool thing is that after each story the writer also gives a personal glimpse into their thoughts on things or something that happened in their own lives. This lets us in on the personal side of these great women!

I have read several of these books in their entirety and some I am definitely now looking forward to!

5) The Virgin Bride - LJ Sexton
David and Ashley are high school sweethearts who are hoping their wedding night will be a magical night for the both of them.

6) The Interview - J.C. Clarke
Xavier Sallis is a master at pleasing women and something he has been working on since he was 18 years old. When Megan Brayer is given the chance at interviewing him on how he became so successful at his job she has no idea how personal this interview is about to get.

7) Saving Cassie - L.A. Remenicky
Cassie's life is in danger and deputy Logan Miller has moved into her place to help protect her. Soon it becomes apparent that maybe the attraction between the two of them is heating up and putting Cassie's heart in danger.

8) His Dark Playroom - Nicole Garcia

Cody Stevens and Heather Marsden are in love and wanting to celebrate Cody's birthday in the most special way, knowing that this one may be his last. When Heather meets Suzanne at school they are drawn to each other and knows they can help each other for support.

10) The Wall - Samantha Jacobey
Sarah Matthews has been possessed by an evil spirit which is making her do things that she would not normally do. When Sarah meets Chase at a local pub, it is apparent that playing pool is not all she will be doing for the night.

11) Chaise Lounge Quickie - Sophie Slade
Sometimes as a parent you need to find any moment to make the sparks fly with your spouse. For human Leila and her vampire husband Lance, they happen to find a Chaise one night and make the most of it.

My review of Molly's Misadventures by D.E. Haggerty

Molly Smith has just caught her husband with his pants around his ankles and his secretary bent over the couch as she came home to pack a bag to fly to her sick dad's place. More than ever she is looking for a fresh start but just hasn't decided how to go about doing it.

Luckily for her, Dianne, her "best friend" sets in motion the beginnings of a blog for Molly called "Molly's Misadventures" and then gets her on a dating website where she blogs all about it. Then of course next door is her childhood crush, Danny Woodburn, whose looking even better with age! Will Molly be able to sort through everything and find out what she really wants from life?

This was such a fun book with so much humor in it! Molly's dates were so awesome and made me laugh with how bad they were and let me tell you makes me want to stay far away from the dating scene!! Molly was sweet yet naive in a way as she really didn't think she was that person out there that men found attractive and was shocked at the attention she was getting.

I loved all the blog stuff and definitely need my own Chris to get my page better set up. I really loved the stuff she talked about and don't want to ruin anything by going into more detail but loved it and really wish she would have given the one a try!

I really recommend this book as a fun read when you're done with the heavy stuff and just want to sit back and laugh! Great job and I look forward to reading more by this author!!

Cheese Quesadillas

The other day I decided that I needed a super easy dinner and I had some extra tortillas on hand from when I made the Shredded Chicken Enchiladas so I decided on Quesadillas. With not much else on hand I opted for cheese ones and just for the heck of it I decided to search for a recipe just to see what they said.

Now, I know it's a super basic cooking idea but I honestly took something from it and that was to fold over one tortilla in half and cook that. It may seem like it makes perfect sense to you but at the time I was honestly wondering how I was going to flip over the entire tortilla in the pan without making a mess. Some days the brain doesn't think of these super easy solutions on it's own! Lol!

The other thing that the recipe recommended was using butter in the pan. I would have used cooking spray but I loved the extra hint of flavour that the butter provided.

So I loved how easy this night was and although it all seems to make perfect sense now I am so glad I decided to search for the recipe!

My review of Cowboy, Mine

Texas Haven by Kathleen Ball

Annie Douglas is trying to escape New York after catching her fiance in bed with her best friend and goes to Weltworth, Texas to look at some property that her brother Sonny just bought.

Burke Dawson is trying to keep his ranch afloat and is shocked that his ex-wife Alice sold half of his families property to Sonny. But Burke is also looking for a wife and Annie may be the perfect person to fill that position.

But when Alice shows up shortly after Burke and Annie are married things are going wrong for Annie and unfortunately she doesn't know whose side Burke is on.

I enjoyed this book but I had a hard time really loving the characters. I liked Annie but until just past mid-way through the book she really never stood up for herself in any way and was walked all over by most of the characters. I was so frustrated for her.

I really was not happy with Burke through the whole middle of the book after Alice arrives. I know the author most likely intended for that to happen and in that she did a great job! Alice was pure evil and I hope something really bad happened to her!

I'm still looking forward to reading more from this author!

Take Me Home, Cowboy by Krista Ames

Ally Kincaid is an editor at Blume Brothers Publishing and has no desire to be in a relationship, and continually has to remind her boss Daniel of this as he keeps asking her out. When a phone call out to her father, Jesse, goes answered by a rude cowboy she knows it's time to come home for a visit.

Matt Gentry is escaping from his past and has been working as the foreman on the ranch for Jesse for the past two years. He is not looking for any relationship but can't help be instantly attracted to Ally, no matter how much he tries to deny it. The two have chemistry for sure but neither are looking for a future together.

When an accident makes them each question their life will it bring them together or let them know that they are better off apart. And most importantly will Ally forgive Matt for his past?

This was a sweet romance on the importance of forgiving ourselves for things out of our control. Both Ally and Matt have pasts that not make them want to love again, yet the both know they have so many feelings for each other that they find it difficult to overlook.

Such a great romance and I look forward to more from the author!

Summer Conroy's business is in trouble after having to pay off her mother's debts when she died but when she inherits half of Silver Creek Ranch she thinks she is finally going to be ok financially. Unfortunately Bryce Jericho, who inherited the other half of his grandfather's ranch is not happy at all with the will.

When Summer wants to turn the ranch into a wedding destination and Bryce wants to turn it into a better ranch there is huge tension and when they both develop feelings and attraction for the other the two need to decide if they can work together to make everything a success.

I enjoyed this book and all of the tension involved with Summer and Bryce trying to sort out their feelings for one another. They both looked at things so differently yet both had huge hearts and really deep down wanted the other to succeed, yet they both did not want to get involved in a relationship.

Summer is trying her best at succeeding and it is sad that she was in so much trouble financially with no fault of her own due to her mother's bills. I loved the ideas she had and really enjoyed watching them come to light. I did really like Bryce as well and completely understood why he was hesitant in making the ranch a wedding destination as it would undermine the credibility of the ranch.

A great story and I look forward to more from the author.

Chalkboard Romance by Melissa Keir

Lauren Walsh is a divorced elementary school teacher whose ex-husband did a number on her self-esteem. Her best friend, Melanie, decides to set her up with a dating service called The Playhouse, that gets excellent results.

Mac Thomas is a foreign news correspondent with an 8 year old son, Todd, whose mom died 2 years ago. Mac's wife was never in love with him but they stayed together for the sake of Todd, although Mac was rarely at home. His sister, Sherry, decides to take matters into her own hands and sets him up with The Playhouse as well.

When sparks fly between Lauren and Mac, Lauren knows she has to get out of there before she gets her heart broken again. But what she doesn't expect is that she will see Mac when he comes to pick up one of her students, Todd, a week later. When Mac and Lauren begin a relationship it is clear that her job is on the line and Lauren must decide if Mac's love is worth the risk.

I enjoyed this story and how Lauren was able to get her self-esteem back from the damage her ex did on her. I was super mad at Melanie for about half the book but luckily she redeemed herself at the end. I really loved all of Mac's family and the love and support that they showed towards Lauren in welcoming her into their family!

There are certain moments when you read a book and it makes your heart beat a little faster. This book is one of the books that did it to me. I loved this book and the characters of Abram and Jordan and wish I could find someone like Abram!

Jordan Glastetter is a single mom to son R.J. and raising him with her best friend Abram Tomko. Jordan is battling with herself in wondering if she is asking Abram to give up too much of himself to help her and her son out.

What do you do if there is a possibility of loving your best friend yet if they don't feel the same you risk losing that friendship? It is such a fine line as it is a tough thing to risk.

There is so much emotion in this book and I was so excited that Mia and Tate James make an appearance or two in this book!! This book is such a great read and definitely tore at my emotions!!

Cathleen "Cat" O'Brien has just returned to her Grandma's home in Granite, Colorado when her past comes back. The daughter, Eve, she gave up almost 18 years ago comes to her pregnant and alone after being thrown out of her adoptive parents house on Halloween night. That same night Eve comes face to face with Eve's dad, Tanner Burke, who forced her to give Eve up and now has an eight year old daughter, Sutton.

As Cat, Tanner and Eve begin to learn about each other they are faced with the same situation they were in and neither Cat nor Eve want to give up the baby but Tanner does. Will they be able to come to an agreement and will the past love that Cat and Tanner shared be able to be rekindled?

I enjoyed this story and I can't imagine having to give up your child when you really don't want to. The story is about forgiveness, second chances and family support. With the support of your family you can do anything and I think Eve had that with Cat. Tanner really wanted the best for everyone but finally realized what he missed out on.

I look forward to reading more books from the author!

Erin Warner is a copy-writer and editor who is meeting a potential client when she bumps into the mysterious Hunter Ellis. Hunter offers Erin a job on the spot as his Personal Assistant as he is a photographer.

As Erin gets closer to Hunter she learns he is holding secrets close to him and she is captivated by him, yet knows everything is not as it seems.

Then it leaves you with a total OMG moment!

This is definitely a book for mature audiences and be forewarned it is part of a series as the end it a total shock and I can't believe I have to wait for the next book!

Part Two:

I have such a love/hate relationship with this series! I absolutely love this series and I hate that I have to wait for the next installment when I am left constantly with such a cliffhanger!!

In the second book Erin discovers that Hunter knows the secret that she has been keeping from him but it turns out that Hunter knows way more about Brant than what Erin does.

Hunter needs to keep Erin safe and Erin realizes that she might be the safest with him, although that idea scares her to death!

I love the chemistry between Hunter and Erin! These two are so hot together, even with all the secrets that they both have from the other. As they start to be more honest with each other their relationship becomes even more raw and passionate.

Their is so much mystery in the book and I almost feel as if there is another set of eyes upon the whole situation that we are about to find out about. I am desperately waiting for the next book!!

Part Three:

Wow! OMG!!

So Erin is in a not good position at the beginning of the book and knows it has to be Hunter that gets her! But I can't write much more without spoiling everything and I just can't do it to you!

This book was so full of secrets that are revealed that I honestly had no idea that were coming. They totally took me by surprise and left me with an open mouth and and OMG moments throughout!

This series is amazing and mysterious and definitely for 18+. I loved it and love how the ending definitely does not mean that the series is over!!

My review of Only One by Lucy Gage

This book centers around Liam Neely and Jenna Ackerman, both of who were introduced in Back to December and their relationship to each other and to Rob Deacon. The book goes into the history of both the characters and we see glimpses of how their lives were intertwined without being aware of it until much later.

Liam Neely is afraid to commit in a relationship sue to both a past relationship and watching his parents marriage dissolve. So instead he has "flings" with around 4 different women in different towns. Yet when he meets Jenna he knows that part of him wants to change. Jenna is attracted to Liam instantly and wants Liam to commit to her but will not say anything to him.

When their lives change in a moment they must decide whether or not their relationship is worth the effort. Then another event happens that makes others question the past and whether two people are holding secrets that can ruin four peoples lives.

I loved the characters of Jenna and Liam - even if at times I wanted to strangle them both for not doing what I thought they should! There are so many characters of the book who add personality to the story and add in some great touches. Looking forward to the next one in the series!

My review of Catch My Heart by Lyssa Layne

Andy Garrity - Love is a Fire & Burst Into Flame

Andy has experienced more heartache in the last few years than any man should. Yet, his daughter-in-laws believe that maybe it's time for him to move on so he is no longer alone after the death of his wife Lisa, three years ago.

This book is an amazing look at the guilt of moving alone and knowing that it is ok to move on and no longer feel lonley. The book brings up such sad memories from past books, yet it is an amazing book on love and the ability to never forget those we have lost.

Absolutely loved this story!

Brianna Rossi - Everybody's After Love

Brianna is very excited with the upcoming arrival of her baby girl with her husband James Paul. Her pregnancy has been going super well and her and James Paul have been having a lot of intimate moments together! Her sister-in-law Julianne is also pregnant but has not been enjoying it the same way and is very fearful about something not going well.

I don't know how to tell you how amazing this story is without ruining anything. Holy incredible and emotional! This story just sinks into you and overwhelms you with emotion. Absolutely loved it!

Blake Purser - Loved by the Linebacker

Blake has been in a secret relationship with Molly for the past two years and he is really tired of sneaking around. On Valentine's Day he heads for dinner with Molly, Evan, Camila, Tate, Mia, Grant and Colie and they all discuss marriage and kids. Maybe Blake's in over his head this time.

Wow - really not sure how I feel about Blake! I must admit that I had issues with Blake in Loved by the Linebacker for the way he treated Evan and it appears that he still hasn't grown up. As he is getting his knee back together to hopefully return to the field life has more in store for him and the way he treats everyone will soon come back to haunt him.

Miranda Wallen - Holding the Other

Miranda is the queen of country music and is married to country music star Lee Maverick. Yet, over the past 10 years together they have gradually grown apart and Miranda feels like they are no longer connected. Will this Valentine's Day find the passion they have been missing?

This story is all about finding yourself and truly doing what is best for yourself and not adhering to what everyone expects from you. Miranda has to do what makes her happy and find herself and what she has lost over the years. I could really relate to this story!

Jacob "Smitty" Smith - My Favorite What If

Smitty and his girlfriend Sloan arrive back in the US after spending the last 6 months in Italy. They are ready to spend their lives together but who knows how it will be when they have their families and friends around them. Will they be able to handle the ghosts of their pasts, now that they are back in front of them?

I love Smitty! It must be so hard for both Sloan and Smitty to move on from the heartbreaks in their pasts to forge a future together but they start doing it. Smitty has several surprises for Sloan which shows the amazing guy he is. I just really hope Smitty catches a break as he truly deserves so much happiness!

My review of To Dance Again by Hebby Roman

Marciel Orlando Cardona's husband Felipe died 2 years ago and her daughter Isabel has just discovered that Felipe is not her biological dad. Marciel promises Isabel that she will return to Puerto Rico, where she grew up to tell her biological father that he has a daughter before Isabel arrives.

Ramon Morales grew up poor and was seen by Marciel's parents as not good enough for her. Yet he has managed to start his company in real estate and has turned into a millionaire. He was married once but has never forgotten his first love Marciel.

When Marciel and Ramon see each other again both are keeping secrets from each other and they must discover if they still are in love with each other or only with the idea as they have both spend so many years apart. Will the secrets they are keeping from the other ultimately tear them apart?

I really enjoyed this book. I can't imagine keeping a secret for that long and I really don't know if the truth would have come out if Isabel hadn't discovered it for herself. Marciel has to really come to terms with how telling Ramon the truth may cause her to lose him, yet she still holds off telling him.

I felt so bad for Ramon in the book with his illness. I completely understand why he didn't want anyone to know as he never wanted pity from anyone, yet really suffered for it.

I think the book really shows how fate can prepare us for what we need in life and when we need it. As Marciel talks about they would have given up so much for each other when they were younger that they wouldn't be where they are today if they had managed to stay together.

Marshmallow Fluff Krispie Treats!!

I receive emails from several cooking/baking blogs that have the most amazing recipes!! When I see one I like I immediately put it on the appropriate pinterest board and then look forward to making it. One recipe that I knew I had to make was for Marshmallow Fluff Krispie Treats - they looked so amazing! The only problem is that in Canada we don't sell Fruity Pebbles and I never saw something else that I wanted to switch it with and I really wanted the color that was in the recipe. So in September when we were in Florida I bought a box and brought it back on the plane with me.

It only took me another 4 months to make it but I finally got around to it and OMG!!!! What was I waiting for and I could have made them so many times since then??!!

So they are so soft and just melt in your mouth delicious! The marshmallows that haven't melted yet mixed in with the marshmallow fluff and melted marshmallows is just over the top delicious! I also really liked the Fruity Pebbles with it as it tasted unique and not just your everyday krispie treat! I will definitely be making these again and I think I will definitely try mixing up the variations of Rice Krispies! These would be so good with a chocolate and vanilla mix!!

So give them a try and you definitely won't regret it but get ready for the huge sugar rush that will follow!! So worth every second!!

My review of X Marks the Spot by Kimmie Easley

Jolene Miller is trying to leave her past behind her, as well as the family business. She has become a lawyer in San Diego and is involved in a relationship with Brad, a fellow attorney at the company she works for. But when she receives a phone call from her sister, Jessa asking her to come home she finally does so.

Once home she discovers that her childhood love, Ronin Steele has been accused of murder and he claims he is innocent. Will Jolene be able to help him and find out if there is a traitor in among The Executioners, the motorcycle club to which her father is the president and Ronin a member.

I really enjoyed this book and all of the tension among everyone as there was definitely a lack of trust in the club with Ronin being charged with murder. I loved the relationship between Ronin and Jolene as they began to discover what had happened between them and why Jolene disappeared.

I absolutely loved the character of Ruth! She was definitely the one that kept everyone together and grounded. It's still interesting to see how the members "viewed" women, even in this day.

I can't wait to see where this series goes!
